Runner.

A few years ago, I created a carpet runner out of samples I had acquired from my job at an architectural/interiors firm.

It got quite a bit of attention, being blogged several times, including Design Public's HATCH blog, and Apartment Therapy.  I thought I would repost the idea- which you may want to try yourself!

All you need is several carpet samples (in a variety of colors), quality duct tape, about 1/2 hour, and voila!

Cool.

Flickr pal, Lisa Congdon.  This chick is the epitome of cool, and now, to top it off, she's appearing in Martha Stewart Living magazine.
She's always an inspiration, drawing, painting, sharing cool photos of her place in San Francisco, running her amazing shop, Rare Device, showing up on the shelves of Urban Outfitters, and even Target!!!

H e l l o ?!?!?
What more could a girl want for her artistic self.
And oh yeah- she has the cutest little doggie you'll ever see.
Don't miss this February 2011 issue.

Lotus.

Last July, I had an opportunity to visit my friend Henry Domke
on his 600 acre property filled with pure Missouri native plants, wildflowers and more.
This propoerty is called the Prairie Garden Trust, and a most fascinating place to visit!

One of my very favorite areas, is the lotus pond, growing huge lotus flowers that easily span 10" in diameter!

The photos I took that day will never do these flowers justice, but I still wanted to share their beauty.

Henry fills up his all terrain 'Mule', and then drives us around the land, so we can see everything up close and personal, stopping often to pick interesting flowers, grasses, leaves, and all kinds of 'samples' of the land.

What a day- we saw so many things- topped off the day by picking chantarelle mushrooms, taking them back to saute for lunch, along with homemade vegetable chili, and an AMAZING fresh fruit sorbet, made with coolest, lightning speed fast blender I've ever seen!!!!

Check out Henry's photos- he's one of the very best photographers for Healing Environments there is.
